Alicia Girgenti

Alicia A. Girgenti earned a Ph.D. in Criminology and Justice Policy from Northeastern University in 2014. She is currently an Associate Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Merrimack College. Alicia began dancing at age 3 at the Berkshire Dance Theater. In her early years, she won many local and national dance competitions, and participated in community events and local performances. Alicia went on to study at the Boston Ballet Summer Intensive Program and Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA. She taught for Cantarella’s School of Dance in Pittsfield and toured with the Albany Berkshire Ballet performing principal roles in Paula Weber’s “Carmina Burana,” as well as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in ABB’s “The Nutcracker.” Alicia has taught, performed, and choreographed professionally in Boston. She has over 25 years of teaching experience in ballet, pointe, and jazz both locally and in the Boston area. Alicia is excited to share her knowledge, experience, and love of dance with the community.
